M.S. Windows

Total Windows 7 theme revamp

Today I am sharing my desktop theme, Google Chrome theme, Gmail theme and [FVD] Speed Dial. Well, not that I had anything to do with their design, but i made a text file that is foolproof for the install and this is a complete theme, all the windows, sounds, cursors, this is atotal Windows 7 AERO replacement, but after the steps are done, you can revert to AERO or any other theme you want from the theme window, everything and here is the links required so here it is .

Follow these instructions right here:

of course it's a google chrome document so no money to spend . . .

These are my monitors, i use a dual monitor setup

To install the background image that I included below, in the settings (FVD) in background options, is where you install the image.

or use whichever image you want.

This one is only my second monitor

just to show what it does over there.

These next screen captures are [FDV] Speed Dial, it's an extension to Chrome that puts a carousel of your links with either auto generated snapshots or your chosen images and clicking these thumbnails open the appropriate links.

You can get it here;

This section is for GMail. On the Gmail page, if you click on the settings (the Gear image), not the chrome settings, you will see an entry for themes. Open that and you will see "Custom Themes" and underneath will be "Custom Dark" select that one and underneath that, click on "Select a background image" well, that's where you enter the image

Here is the Chrome theme. This one I take the credit for, I made this theme myself and without further delay . . . BAM !!!

Download the file I linked to the google chrome logo just below and within Chrome, go to the settings and point it to where you downloaded the file, that's it.

I hope you enjoy it, I am, I only found one bug so far, it's a Jar program called filebot, it's a batch renamer for files and runs on java.  Somehow it wont run with the theme on and it's the only java file that does that so far. i use java programs frequently, i also run "clr" (combat log reader) an awesome little program to parse our dps in sto.

the work around with the java file not running is quite simple and takes about 5 seconds to do

so it's worth it'o'plenty . . .

  • right click on your windows 7 desktop and select "personalize"

  • the windows theme window will open

  • select the windows "aero" theme

  • do what you have to to

  • when you are done, go back to the theme window

  • select the "installed theme" Star Trek and that is all.
